A brief history

Originally called Classico UK and founded in 1993, we created our business to exclusively distribute Classico San Francisco Inc's wonderful range of postcards in the UK. Their ranges and products expanded over time and our company grew accordingly. As we were recognised as the premier postcard distributors in the UK, other postcard publishers approached us and asked if we'd like to distribute their product ranges as well. We now distribute for Artimedes, GB Eye and Pyramid Posters, exclusively in the UK.

Recently it has become apparent to us that our branding was no longer adequate to cover exactly what we do and as we realised we needed to bring in a new way to do business with the ever changing independant retail market. We felt now was the right time to re-brand as well as totally re-design our ageing catalogue website.

To this extent, thepostcardcompany.co.uk are hoping to create the ultimate one-stop website catalogue/shop for all the products that we wholesale, with a website that shows exactly what items are in stock in real time, ending any problems with stock outs due to deletions etc, and enabling us to keep our catalogue fresh and up to date on a minute by minute basis.

We've found that producing a full printed catalogue for a range consisting of over 6,500 different postcards was a logistical nightmare, with it being out of date even as it went to the printers! To this extent we will be endeavouring to put our entire product ranges online over the coming months so expect the site to grow rapidly. We will be producing a very small catalogue with what we define as our "perennial best sellers" which will be available soon to download for registered customers in pdf format, or via snail mail if a printed copy is required.

We hope that you like the changes we have made, after all, we've done them after talking to you, the customer, and listening to what you want from us. This includes smaller pack quantities, more transparent stock levels and quicker turnarounds on orders, our latest incarnation of our website also does away with the login aspect of our previous site. Whilst many customers liked this security aspect, the majority found it a hinderance to ordering, as such we are trialing our new site without login. If you spot that a product that you currently order from us isn't online yet, please bear with us, it will be soon or alternatively drop us an email and we'll try to shift it up the queue and get it added sooner.We already have over 950 different cards available to buy online, with over 5,500 to come, not including our ranges of greeting cards, mugs, magnets and minicards to name but a few!
